The Sylvana is our original chalet and has a special ambience which makes our guests want to return year after year. A former 1 star hotel, it combines the friendliness of a chalet with some of the benefits that you would only find in a hotel.The 15 bedrooms are comfortable but not luxurious. The furnishing and decoration is simple but all rooms have small en suite bath/shower rooms. Downstairs you can relax in front of the log fire in the attractive lounge area and have a pre-dinner drink at the inexpensive bar. We employ an excellent chef who will cook eggs and porridge for breakfast, cakes for afternoon tea and of course a high quality three course evening meal complete with wine (except on Friday which is staff day off).
Only 150m from the Rochebrune cable car. Stroll down the hill for 7 minutes and you are in the centre of the picturesque village.

The skiing is the star attraction. There are runs to suit everyone from the nervous beginner to the powder hound. Beginners soon graduate to the winding confidence-building greens of Mont D'Arbois. Long blue and red runs suit intermediate skiers, snaking through the trees and offering fantastic views of Mont Blanc. Black slope skiers are challenged by the steep terrain of Mont Joly and speed freaks by the Women's World Cup downhill run at Cote 2000. All over the mountains are charming restaurants and cafes all with individual character. Mixed ability groups benefit from our accompanied skiing programme, which allows you to discover the pistes at your own speed and ability, meet other people in the resort and still be with your friends and family for lunch!

The town is enchanting, with a pedestrianised centre around a 13th century church, cobbled streets and a myriad of boutiques, delicatessens and bars.

There are no huge hotels in Megeve and it is not designed for the mass market. Perhaps because of this, the people are very welcoming and friendly. It is a year-round resort, very popular with the French with relatively few English visitors. Should anyone feel like more exercise, after your hard days skiing, there is an outdoor and indoor ice skating rink and a well equipped sports centre with an indoor pool, sauna, indoor tennis courts and climbing wall. Megeve is an excellent place for non-skiers with marked paths on the mountain for walking and a special lift pass is available so you can meet up with the others in your party for lunch. It is also easy to get to, only 1 1/4 hours from Geneva.
